You have reached a point where you have the certificate and the knowledge. So, how do you start, and which career path do you choose? I think that’s an important question, and you have to answer it yourself. But don’t worry, I will not leave you with it alone. I will try to help you make that choice. The most important question to ask yourself is whether you are someone who enjoys coding. Is code not a problem for you? Do you like talking to people? And does designing certain technical solutions pose a problem for you?
Why am I asking all this? Because with the answers in hand, you will be able to choose between a few available career paths. Look at the next figure showing career possibilities. Watch out for Pacman.

Figure 13.13: Career path
As you can see, you’ll begin your adventure by being an admin. Do not try to skip this incredibly important position. You can work as a system admin or as a Salesforce support analyst – the title is not so important. Why not skip this position? As an admin, you learn a lot about the system and discover functions you previously had no idea about. During such work, you will encounter cases written by users. The path of a system admin usually looks like this: you start as a junior, then after some time, you move on to the middle, and the last title is senior, after which it is worth talking to your manager about what is next. This decision will be guided by the direction you want to go and what skills you possess. With these titles, it works a bit like Pokémon – Pichu, Pikachu, and Raichu. So, the final evolution of an Admin is – Senior! I choose you!
Why else start your career as a system administrator? By gaining experience, you acquire information on best practices, interesting solutions, and most importantly, self-confidence. Moving to the next position, you know that you already know something about Salesforce and will not hesitate to use it. Clients can sense when you feel uncertain, but remember that not knowing something is not bad. If you do not know something during a conversation with a client, it is better to say you will check and come back to them with a proper solution, rather than trying to make up something that is not true.
